Japan and Italy are said to have made a major move towards improving their strategic partnership in a meeting involving Japan’s Minister for Economic Security, Takaichi, and Italy’s Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni.

This marked an important turning point in Japan-Italian relations, which concentrated on strengthening mutual ties in a number of important fields, including economic security.

Takaichi’s trip marks Japan’s continued attempts at greater cooperation with Europe through shared objectives to promote a rules-based system and to address many global issues, such as cybersecurity, global warming, preventative actions for climate change, and resiliency of global supply chains.
