Dyah Roro Esti, Deputy Minister of Trade of Indonesia, expressed the need for stronger engagement with relevant businesses in Japan to mitigate current restrictions affecting the global trade ecosystem.

Following a meeting with the Japan Indonesia Association (JAPINDA) representatives in Tokyo, Japan, on Monday, she stated Indonesia's "strong commitment to a rules-based global trade system".

In an official statement received in Jakarta on Tuesday, Esti noted that the country would always advocate for constructive engagement with relevant parties to ascertain solutions to trade challenges.

"At the national level, we are striving to enhance transparency, ensure regulatory certainty, drive market diversification, and strengthen domestic market resilience. Hence, we would like to invite Japanese business actors to cooperate in navigating this challenging time," she remarked.

The deputy minister said that President Prabowo Subianto is leading the Indonesian government to ensure that Indonesia's trade policies are unambiguous and emphasize multilateralism, diversification of markets, and the deepening of foreign exchange reserves, as outlined in the eight main missions dubbed the Asta Cita.
