Both leaders emphasised the importance of developing economic relations and agreed to prepare a time-bound action programme to strengthen trade and investment mechanisms and encourage direct engagement between their business communities. Priority sectors include energy and related industries, transportation, tourism, culture, telecommunications and digital transformation.
Maritime connectivity emerged as another important area of cooperation. Al-Sisi highlighted the potential for linking Egyptian ports with Slovenia's Port of Koper to strengthen logistics networks, integrate supply chains and improve access to markets across Africa and the Arab region. The initiative is also expected to create opportunities for businesses involved in shipping, transportation and international trade.
The two countries also discussed cooperation in education, scientific research, organised migration and tourism. Al-Sisi stressed the importance of strengthening Egypt's strategic partnership with the European Union, noting that closer cooperation with Slovenia could contribute to broader economic and political engagement between Egypt and the bloc.
For her part, Pirc Musar identified water resource management, artificial intelligence, waste recycling, education, scientific research and the transition to a green economy as promising areas for collaboration. She also called for stronger coordination between the two countries in international forums, particularly the United Nations.

During their joint press conference, the presidents exchanged views on regional security challenges. Al-Sisi called for diplomatic efforts to resolve the ongoing US-Iran crisis and warned that renewed military confrontation could have serious humanitarian and economic consequences. He also reaffirmed Egypt's support for Gulf countries and called for the full implementation of the Gaza peace plan, uninterrupted humanitarian assistance and a political settlement leading to an independent Palestinian state.
Pirc Musar praised Egypt's role in promoting regional stability and supporting humanitarian efforts in Gaza. She reaffirmed Slovenia's commitment to international humanitarian law and continued political consultations with Cairo on regional developments. Both leaders also discussed the situation in the Horn of Africa and the Ukraine crisis.
The visit comes as Egypt and Slovenia seek to build on their longstanding diplomatic relations and expand cooperation within the broader Egypt-European Union partnership. Through a structured action programme and stronger business engagement, both countries aim to translate their discussions into practical economic and strategic initiatives.
