China and Zimbabwe are continuing to strengthen bilateral relations through expanding cooperation in the media and communication sectors. The two countries have developed a shared dedication to cultural exchange and information sharing and professional development in the media industry through their recent official meetings and media organization partnerships. The two countries have developed stronger diplomatic and economic relations which now enable their partnership to grow through their increasing ties.
The signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between China Media Group and Zimbabwe's Ministry of Information and Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation and The Herald newspaper. The agreement includes content exchange and joint programme production and technical cooperation and personnel training. The signing ceremony took place during high-level meetings between leaders of both nations who were attending the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation summit in Beijing.
Zimbabwean officials have described media collaboration as an important tool for economic growth, cultural understanding, and international communication. Information Minister Dr Zhemu Soda announced his upcoming leadership of a delegation to China which will work to enhance international media development and information sharing between both countries. The official statement explains that better communication methods will enable Zimbabwe to display its products and tourist attractions and cultural heritage to audiences worldwide.
