South Korea: The New Winter Hotspot

The emergence of South Korea as a winter tourism destination is impressive. It used to be niche winter getaway but at present it has reshaped into a worldwide seasonal travel. The ski resorts in the country including Yongpyong and Pyeongchang are still attracting the ski lovers and the country rich culture and heritage also provides the travellers with a total winter package.

The rising interest in K-drama-inspired winter experiences is one of the drivers of popularity of South Korea. Tourists are flocking the sites of famous dramas and it is a special combination of entertainment and tourism. The festive atmosphere in cities, such as Seoul, with all the holiday decorations and Christmas markets, as well as the traditional Korean festivals, makes the country more attractive.

In addition, South Korea is easily accessible to most of the major international hubs, along with well-established flight connections thus making it an exciting and convenient winter destination. The charm of the snow-white wonders of mountains, as well as technological advancements and the development of modern infrastructure in the country, make traveling an easy and memorable experience.

Japan: A Winter Classic That Continues to Captivate

Japan has always been a favourite among the winter tourists and it continues to be at the centre of the Asian winter. The Japanese attractiveness is not only in their winter sports. Hot springs (onsen culture) of the country is still a significant attraction, providing the tourists with the opportunity to relax in the mineral-rich waters and enjoy nature in a beautiful winter landscape.

Also, Tokyo Disney Resort and the Universal Studios Japan are iconic places of Japan that attract families in search of memorable, magical experiences in the cold season. Festivals are also typical of the winter season in Japan, including the Sapporo Snow Festival which showcases elaborate ice sculptures, making it a must-see event for winter travellers. All this makes Japan on top of winter tourism lists.
