8MAY, 2025GREEN FUEL FORWARD LAUNCHED TO BOOST SAF ADOPTION IN ASIA-PACIFICCYBORD, SIEMENS PARTNER TO TRANSFORM MANUFACTURING QUALITYThe Asia-Pacific region, despite being the world's largest air transport market, has been slow to embrace Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Nevertheless, support is increasing rapidly. Singapore and Japan have announced SAF blending mandates while Australia has announced supportive policies at the Governmental level. Production is either underway or proposed in China, Malaysia, Thailand, India, and Fiji. Singapore has also been home to the world's largest SAF production facility established by the Finnish renewable fuels company Neste."The Asia-Pacific region has a unique opportunity to lead in sustainable aviation fuels, but unlocking this potential requires stronger demand signals. Green Fuel Forward can provide the technical clarity and corporate commitment needed to scale SAF adoption by bringing together key industry players to drive the market forward", said GenZero CEO Frederick Teo.A joint study conducted by ASEAN, the Canadian government, Boeing, and global consulting firm GHD concluded that Southeast Asia has the many agricultural feedstocks and potentially workforce to be a significant global SAF producers. To support of and further these measures an Asia Sustainable Aviation Fuel Association (ASAFA) was established in Singapore in late 2024 to promote the development and use of low-carbon aviation fuels in the Asia-Pacific region. As part of these initiatives, the Coalition of Green Fuel Forward was initiated at the GenZero Climate Summit 2025 event in Singapore. The Coalition includes significant stakeholders such as Temasek, Singapore Airlines, Qantas Group, Air New Zealand, Boeing, DHL, DBS, UOB, Mizuho, Neste and more. The Green Fuel Forward Coalition's actions and stated purpose aim at accelerating SAF production and adoption across Asia-Pacific; it is this step that is instrumental to the decarbonization of the region. Laia BarbarĂ , the World Economic Forum's Head of Climate Strategy said, "We are thrilled to expand our aviation decarbonisation efforts by creating a targeted programme to unlock Asia-Pacific's immense potential. Green Fuel Forward will complement our well-established and ongoing Airports of Tomorrow and First Movers Coalition activities, increasing knowledge sharing, empowering organisations to procure SAF, and creating additional networking opportunities for our local partners and stakeholders". Cybord, a leader in visual AI analytics for electronic components, has entered into an expanded OEM agreement with Siemens Digital Industries Software. The agreement will add Cybord's artificial intelligence technology into Siemens' Opcenter Manufacturing Execution System (MES). This will allow Siemens to provide its Opcenter customers and our manufacturing sites across the globe with Cybord's advanced AI.The integration represents an improvement to the quality control in the Surface Mount Technology (SMT) processes through its visible traceability, real-time capability for defective components, and ability to build component repositories. Their solution is fully embedded in Opcenter, no need for additional dashboards or applications to review the data because it allows manufacturers to interface with their integrity problems in real time.Having that level of responsiveness would create a safer way to work, not to mention being able to have assurance that your product is consistent. Overall, the integration shows Siemens' commitment to enhancing its own operational excellence and innovation in electronics manufacturing as an end-to-end digital manufacturing solution.Embedding Cybord's proven AI platform known for 99.9% real-time inspection accuracy homes the potential for an improved MES offering along with embedded traceability and quality assurance capabilities. Cybord's technology has already proven to have outcomes that are reducing the amount of rework, scrap, and supply chain risk. With this integration, more manufacturers can now have actionable insights and integrations to leverage AI's capabilities to improve efficiency and product reliability on the production floor."We are proud to collaborate with Siemens, a global leader in manufacturing software, to bring our AI-powered solutions to an even broader audience. Together, we are setting a new standard for quality and traceability in the electronics manufacturing industry, giving manufacturers the tools they need to stay ahead of market demands while improving their product quality", said Oshri Cohen, CEO of Cybord."We are excited to expand our partnership with Cybord to enhance Siemens Opcenter with visual AI insights. By integrating Cybord's state-of-the-art AI technology, we are further strengthening our Opcenter MES offering, providing our customers with an unparalleled ability to detect and resolve quality issues quickly and efficiently - leading to more reliable production processes and improved bottom lines", added Markus Sauter, Product Manager at Siemens Digital Industries Software.
